Dani Shay and Nellie Vietenheimer were “a little sad” when they found out that The Glee Project contenders performed “We Found Love” after the duo were eliminated. As an antidote, they decided to put together their own acoustic cover of Rihanna’s smash hit song.
Neither girl is a powerhouse singer. Maybe they’re unique voices weren’t poppy or Broadway enough for Glee, but I could listen to these two sing all day. They both bring something really special to their rendition of the pop hit.
In case you need a refresher or don’t know: Dani was eliminated in week 2 after Glee creator, Ryan Murphy, found her “Danceability” lacking. Nellie had a decent run, but not long enough, if you ask me. Ryan did not appreciate Nellie’s “Theatricality” and took her off the call back list in week 7.
As a side note–some of you may remember Dani from last season’s America’s Got Talent, where she advanced on the strength of her ability to impersonate Justin Beiber…
If you’re fans of the ex-contenders there is some good news. Both will be back for The Glee Project finale, set to air August 14.
