The Amazing Race Week 10 Live Blog

For this leg, teams will fly to Stockholm, Sweden. It will be an even playing field as everyone will be on the same flight. After they land, they take taxis to their next location. Todd & Ashlie had looked up where they were going online at the airport, and they’re prepared for a skydiving task. Greg & John arrive there first, but they forgot to claim a number. They run past the numbers as they go searching for it. This allows Joel & Garrett and Steve & Anna Leigh to claim number 1 and number 2 respectively. Greg & John realize their mistake, and they go back and claim number 3. Todd & Ashlie take number 4, and Rob & Corey take number 5. Rob & Corey still have their Express Pass, but they won’t use it for this task.

Later, the teams board a plane and do tandem skydiving with a professional one at a time. Ashlie is especially nervous as she’s afraid to jump out of a plane, but she goes through with it and ends up enjoying it. Joel & Garrett complete the task first, and they get their next clue. They must proceed to the island of Tynningö.

All teams board boats to the their next location, where they learn they have a Roadblock to complete. One team member must put together a flower wreath. Once it’s properly attached to a maypole, they will get their next clue. Garrett, Anna Leigh, and Greg are the first to begin the Roadblock. Todd & Ashlie and Rob & Corey arrive next. Ashlie chooses to do the Roadblock, but Rob & Corey choose to use their Express Pass. They skip the Roadblock and get their next clue. They can now proceed to the Royal Dramatic Theatre.

The first roadblock completed

Anna Leigh is the first to complete the Roadblock. She and Steve can proceed to the Royal Dramatic Theatre too. After seeing Anna Leigh finish her wreath in a short amount of time, Greg realizes he was being too particular with the task. He plans to hurry up to catch up to the teams in front. Meanwhile, Rob & Corey cannot find the main entrance to the theatre, which allows Steve & Anna Leigh to pass them.

Steve & Anna Leigh find the violinist inside the theatre first and get their next clue. They must travel to Solna Centrum Station. After Steve & Anna Leigh walk out, they run into Rob & Corey. They tell them where the main entrance is. Rob & Corey are surprised to see them and wonder if they should have held onto the Express Pass for the Detour. Steve & Anna Leigh board a bus, but the clue tells them to take the subway. They realize their mistake after Rob & Corey catch up to them. They let them know they aren’t supposed to take a bus, so the two teams walk together to the subway.

Back at the Roadblock, Greg gets his wreathed check. He’s told it’s not good enough, and he realizes he’s missing the correct amount of flowers. He eventually completes it before Garrett or Ashlie finish making their wreaths. Greg & John can proceed to the Royal Dramatic Theatre. Garrett gets his wreath checked, but his isn’t good enough yet. His wreath passes the second inspection, leaving Ashlie as the last one working on the Roadblock. Ashlie’s wreath passes the first inspection, so she and Todd are seemingly only slightly behind Joel & Garrett at this point.

Recycling trash

Greg & John and Joel & Garrett manage to find the violinist inside the theatre with no issues. Greg & John manage to board a subway before Joel & Garrett, putting them seven minutes ahead of them. Meanwhile, Rob & Corey and Steve & Anna Leigh reach Solna Centrum Station. They learn they have a Detour to complete: Sort or Serve. Sort requires going through a family’s trash and sorting them into recycling stations. Serve requires one team member to be a server and one team member to be a runner. They must deliver three courses based on past Nobel Prize Award banquets. Rob & Corey and Steve & Anna Leigh choose Sort. Later, Greg & John choose Serve, and Joel & Garrett choose Sort. Meanwhile, Todd & Ashlie get their clue from the violinist.

Rob & Corey and Steve & Anna Leigh arrive at the recycling center. They agree to work together to get through the task. Greg & John arrive at the restaurant to begin the Serve task. Greg is the runner and John is the server. The food is listed in French, and Greg feels confident since he speaks French. They manage to serve the first course correctly. Meanwhile, Rob & Corey, Steve & Anna Leigh, and Joel & Garrett are working on the Sort Detour. Rob & Corey and Steve & Anna Leigh continue to help each other, telling each other where certain recycling items must go. As for Todd & Ashlie, they are still on the subway. Todd tries to keep their spirits up, but Ashlie feels defeated. She says they’re trailing the other teams, but Todd says they’ll make a comeback. They eventually reach the clue box and choose the Sort Detour.

Jogging to the subway

Rob & Corey and Steve & Anna Leigh complete the Sort Detour. They get their next clue, and they learn they must proceed to Pampas Marina. Greg & John correctly serve all three courses and complete the Serve Detour. Joel & Garrett complete the Sort Detour too. They are already gone by the time Todd & Ashlie arrive, which means Todd & Ashlie must be too far behind to catch up.

Rob & Corey and Steve & Anna Leigh arrive at Pampas Marina. They find their next clue, which tells them they must take the subway to go to the next Pit Stop: Strömparterren. As they make their way out of the marina, Greg & John arrive. Joel & Garrett arrive shortly afterwards. Meanwhile, Todd & Ashlie complete the Sort Detour.

Rob & Corey, Steve & Anna Leigh, and Greg & John ask a local for directions to the subway. He tells them it’s a ten minute walk from where they are. The three teams jog in that direction, but they reach a closed building. They think they’re at the wrong area, and Anna Leigh feels like they’re running around aimlessly. They ask another local for directions, and they learn they must go back to where they started. This allows Joel & Garrett to reach the subway first. As they’re on the subway, Todd & Ashlie arrive at Pampas Marina.

Team No 1 Arrives

Greg & John, Rob & Corey, and Steve & Anna Leigh finally reach the subway, but Joel & Garrett reach the Pit Stop first. Phil gives them the good news. Joel & Garrett are Team #1! They are shocked that they got first place. They have also won a trip to the Galápagos Islands. Later, while Joel & Garrett are still on the mat, Greg & John land on the mat as Team #2. Rob & Corey join them as Team #3. While Steve & Anna Leigh are racing, Anna Leigh says she sees Todd & Ashlie behind them. She urgently tells her father to keep running faster, but Steve is winded. Nonetheless, Steve & Anna Leigh join the top three teams on the mat. Phil lets them know they are Team #4. Phil gives them all kudos on a tight finish and points out how one of these four teams will win The Amazing Race.

After the other teams have left, Todd & Ashlie reach the Pit Stop. Phil gives them the bad news. Todd & Ashlie have been eliminated from the race. They’re disappointed, but they’re grateful for their relationship and family. They said they would do the race all over again if they could.
