The Amazing Race 28 Recap Week 7 Live Blog

A new episode of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

No teams were eliminated in the last episode of the race since the leg wasn’t over yet. All teams must go to the train station and board a train to Tbilisi, Georgia. Once there, they must go to the St. George Statue to find their next clue. It will be a very long train ride, so the teams get ready to go to sleep. Some team members choose to chat, including Brodie and Blair. They both agree there is a romantic connection between them, and they have plans to see each other after the race is over.

Once at Tbilisi, the teams get into taxis to go to Freedom Square to find the St. George Statue. They find the clue box by the statue and open their next clue. They learn they must go to Narikala Fortress and ride a gondola to find their next clue. Brodie and Kurt and Tyler and Korey are the first to reach Narikala Fortress. Dana and Matt were worried their taxi driver took them to the wrong place, but they are at the right location. Zach and Rachel are on their way there too, and the rest of the teams are behind. After the gondola ride, teams must go to  Jvari Monastery to begin their chosen Detour.

Tyler and Korey are the first team to reach the monastery. They can do Clean or String. Clean requires team members to clean clay pots underground. String requires team members to make five local candy treats. Everyone chooses String except Sheri and Cole. However, there are only four stations available at String, so it’s first come first serve. Tyler and Korey, Brodie and Kurt, and Zach and Rachel begin the String Detour. They ask the workers there for guidance. However, there is a language barrier, so everyone is struggling making the candy as they prick their fingers working with the strings and needles. Burnie and Ashley get the fourth spot at the String Detour before Dana and Matt arrive. Dana and Matt then decide to go to the other Detour. Scott and Blair get lost along the way, but they show up at the String Detour. Instead of going to the Clean Detour, they decide to wait out the other teams.

Sheri and Cole get started on the Clean Detour as the other teams are still working on the String Detour. Brodie’s fingers are especially bloody as he is working stringing the candy treats. Zach and Rachel are having success with making their candy treats and get one completed. Meanwhile, Dana and Matt are getting anxious as they are still driving to the next Detour. Dana says she never would have agreed to go to the next Detour if she knew it was twenty minutes away.

Scott and Blair are watching the other teams as Brodie and Kurt get their treats inspected, but some of their treats do not pass. Tyler and Korey also have treats that do not pass the judge’s inspection. They will have to redo some of them. Meanwhile, Dana and Matt decide to turn around and drive back to the String Detour.

Zach and Rachel and Burnie and Ashley pass the String Detour. They now must go to the Rustaveli National Theater to find their next clue. After they leave, Tyler and Korey decide that they have had enough of stringing the candy after pricking their fingers with the needles while working outside in the cold. They decide to switch Detours. Right before they depart to the winery for the Clean Detour, Dana and Matt arrive. After hearing Tyler and Korey say how hard the task was, they decide to go back to the winery too and follow Tyler and Korey on the way there.

Zach and Rachel arrive at the theater. There is now a Roadblock one team member must complete, and the clue hints to a dancing task. Rachel urges Zach to do it since he used to tap-dance. Zach then learns that he must learn a complicated and fast traditional ballet routine. As he begins practicing, Brodie and Kurt complete the String Detour, but Scott and Blair are still working on it.

Sheri and Cole finish the Clean Detour and are currently in fourth place just when Tyler and Korey and Dana and Matt arrive. Sheri and Cole can now make their way to the theater. Meanwhile, Burnie and Ashley arrive at the theater. As Ashley begins learning the dance routine, Scott and Blair finish the String Detour.

Dana and Matt finish the Clean Detour and they can leave for the theater too. Tyler and Korey, however, do not pass their first inspection and must continue cleaning the underground clay pot. They are in last place, but they pass the inspection on their next attempt.

Brodie and Kurt arrive at the Roadblock, and Kurt decides to dance. As he begins learning the routine, Ashley is the first to finish the Roadblock. She and Burnie can now go to the Pit Stop: Bridge of Peace.

Scott and Blair’s taxi driver has to stop for gas as all the other teams are at the theater learning the dance routine. Korey and Dana begin learning the routine as Burnie and Ashley get lost on the way to the Pit Stop. They went to the wrong park, and they are given guidance by a local as she directs them to the right place.

Zach and Kurt are the next ones to complete the Roadblock. They can go to the Pit Stop with their team members. Scott and Blair finally arrive at the theater, and Blair urges Scott to do the Roadblock. Brodie and Kurt hang back for a few minutes to help Scott get started on the Roadblock. Due to a romantic connection forming between Brodie and Blair, he is hoping they will remain in the race. Since Dana is a dancer, she excels at the Roadblock and completes it quickly. She and Matt can go to the Pit Stop too.

Zach and Rachel are the first team to arrive at the Pit Stop. They were expecting second place, but are excited to learn they are Team #1. While they are still on the mat talking to Phil, Burnie and Ashley show up and are Team #2. Right afterwards, Brodie and Kurt and Dana and Matt sprint to the mat too.

Only Tyler and Korey, Sheri and Cole, and Scott and Blair remain at the Roadblock. Sheri is the next one to complete the dance routine, and she and Cole greet Phil as Team #5. Now it’s down to Tyler and Korey and Scott and Blair. Korey and Scott both fail the routine multiple times, but Scott finally gets it right. He and Blair can now go to the Pit Stop, but Tyler and Korey complete it soon afterwards.

Scott and Blair have a lead and should remain in the race, but Scott mistakenly took Tyler’s bag. He and Blair must now return to the theater to return the bag. Tyler is freaking out in the theater as he screams that someone took his bag, but Scott shows up and apologetically hands back the bag. However, it’s now an extremely close race as both teams get into taxis on the way to the Pit Stop. Tyler and Korey’s taxi driver passes Scott and Blair’s on the way to the Pit Stop, but they arrive at the bridge at the same time. It’s a footrace to the mat to greet Phil, and it is Tyler and Korey who land on the mat first. Scott and Blair show up seconds afterwards. Tyler and Korey remain in the race by the skin of their teeth; Scott and Blair have been eliminated from the race. Both teams are emotional, but Scott and Blair handle their elimination well. Blair says she is really proud and happy to have Scott as a father.
