A new episode of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.
Last week the teams traveled to the Netherlands, where Rick and Cindy were eliminated from the race. How will tonight play out with only six teams remaining? Let’s find out!
Justin and Diana won the last leg of the race, so they’re the first to depart. They learn their next destination is Kraków, Poland. They will have to go to Plaza Kraków to find their next clue. Before they leave, they must use the Travelocity App to book their plane tickets to Poland. Afterwards, they must take a train to Amsterdam and then go to the airport there to board their flight. Justin feels confident about his and Diana’s chances of winning the race since he claims to have been preparing for the race for thirteen years. The other teams book their flights too. Tanner and Josh say the race was more difficult than they thought it’d be, and only people on the race will be able to understand.
Justin and Diana manage to book a earlier flight than the other teams. They are ahead as everyone else are on the same flight. Justin and Diana arrive at Plaza Kraków. The clue awaits at the bottom of a pool, and Justin dives in to retrieve it. They open the clue and learn they have a Detour to complete: Mine or Music. Mine requires teams to work in a 700 year old mine. They must pick up timber and deliver them to a loading area. After filling a container with with salt, they must push it through a tunnel. Music requires teams to learn how to play piano while accompanying a violinist. They will then have to roll the piano to a designated area where one team member will play the piano while the other tries to collect tips until they earn 100 Zloty (1 Polish Zloty equals 0.25 US Dollar). Justin and Diana begin working in the mine while other teams arrive.
Tanner and Josh and Logan and Chris choose Mine; Kelsey and Joey, Tiffany and Krista, and Denise and James Earl else choose Music. There is a struggle to find taxis, but everyone but Tanner and Josh manage to get one. Logan and Chris even run across a highway to get to a taxi driver. Tanner and Josh are still trying to get a taxi as the teams are departing to the Detour, putting them in last place.
Kelsey and Joey begin learning the piano as Justin and Diana finish the Mine Detour. Justin and Diana get their next clue and learn they must go to the Schindler Factory. Logan and Chris arrive at the Mine Detour, and Denise and James Earl and Tiffany and Krista join Kelsey and Joey at the Music Detour. Tanner and Josh, on the other hand, are still trying to find a taxi, but they do manage to finally find one.
Justin and Diana arrive at the Schindler Factory, and learn about the history of Schindler. After a moment of reflection, they get their next clue. They learn they have a Roadblock to do, which requires one team member to identify Jewish dishes. They will be given an order of food and must deliver the correct dishes to a party.
Meanwhile, the teams at the Music Detour are struggling rolling their pianos. Tiffany and Krista’s piano breaks apart at one point, but all the teams manage to get their pianos at the right location in one piece. Afterwards, they start trying to collect tips. Meanwhile, Tanner and Josh get lost trying to find the Detour.
Kelsey and Joey are the first to collect 100 Zloty and are now in second place. They can make their way to the Schindler Factory. The other teams are collecting tips too, but Tiffany and Krista are struggling. Krista fears she is being too aggressive asking for money. They fall behind the other teams as Logan and Chris finish working in the mine and Denise and James Earl collect 100 Zloty. In addition, Tanner and Josh finally begin the Mine Detour.
Justin is trying to identify the Jewish dishes as Kelsey and Joey visit the factory. Back at the Music Detour, Tiffany has to take over for Krista in collecting tips. She also offers guys kisses on the cheek in exchange for tips. Tiffany’s strategy works as they finally collect 100 Zloty. Tanner and Josh are the only team left still working on a Detour.
Justin delivers the food and is correct on his first attempt. He and Diana can now make their way to the Pit Stop, which is inside the restaurant where Phil is waiting inside. Justin and Diana are Team #1 and win a trip to China.
Kelsey and Joey are now at the Roadblock, and Denise and James Earl arrive after them. Kelsey and James Earl agree to work together on the Roadblock while Tiffany and Krista and Logan and Chris visit the factory. Meanwhile, Tanner and Josh finally get their clue and can make their way to the Schindler Factory too.
Kelsey and James Earl both pass the Roadblock after working together. Kelsey and Joey are Team #2 and Denise and James are Team #3. Phil inform them that a U-Turn is up ahead and asks if anyone will take out Justin and Diana. Kelsey and Joey seem very eager to beat Justin and Diana in the race.
Back at the Roadblock, Tiffany delivers the tray of Jewish dishes, but is incorrect. Logan and Chris arrive too, and they bicker over who gets to do the Roadblock. Chris really wants to do it, and Logan angrily accepts as she aggressively shoves the clue into Chris’s hands. Tanner and Josh are still in the factory and remain in last place.
However, Tanner and Josh manage to arrive at the Roadblock before Chris or Tiffany completes it. Josh begins working on the task, and Tiffany offers to help him. They hope they can work together to get ahead of Chris. Unfortunately for them, Chris manages to deliver the correct menu items and he and Logan greets Phil as Team #4. Tanner and Josh and Tiffany and Krista have been friends and allies in the race, and both teams are sad that two of them are likely going to be eliminated next. And because Tiffany offered to help Josh, Josh allows Tiffany to get her menu items checked before him. He would have been able to walk ahead of her, but he slows down and does what he believes is the right thing to do. Both Tiffany and Josh’s menu items are correct and they both walk to the Pit Stop at the same time, but it’s Tiffany and Krista who land on the mat seconds before Tanner and Josh. Tiffany and Krista are crying as they stand before Phil since they don’t want to see Tanner and Josh leave the race. Luckily, Phil tells them they won’t have to since this is a non-elimination leg. Tanner and Josh will have to complete a Speed Bump in the next leg, but they will get to remain in the race.
