The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards to Air on FOX

The 2014 Emmy awards aired on a Monday in August. That was because NBC, the network hosting the awards, had conflicts with their very profitable Sunday Night Football franchise, which airs throughout the fall. There was NO pre-empting their highest rated program.

The Emmy’s aired on Monday, because otherwise, it would interfere with the MTV Music Video Awards. So the entire situation was kind of weird. The ratings didn’t suffer TOO much, though. The 2014 Emmys were the second-highest rated since 2006, bested only by the 2013 telecast.

For 2015, The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will return to FOX, airing at a more typical date and time, LIVE coast-to-coast from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 20 (8:00-11:00 PM ET/5:00-8:00 PM PT).

The Emmys always, like most awards shows, air on Sunday’s and at the beginning of fall premiere week.  Host(s) and producers for the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, according to FOX will be announced soon.

Additionally, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which is the ceremony where the technical awards are handed out, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 and will air on FXX on a date to be announced.
