I do not understand American Idol executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe’s pining for Jennifer Lopez. She hasn’t officially announced absolutely positively that she’s leaving the Idol judges’ panel yet, although I think, “It’s time for me to move on.” is pretty much an indication that she doesn’t plan to come back.

In a new interview with the Associated Press, American Idol producer, Nigel Lythgoe, says not to expect any major changes for American Idol Season 11. Hollywood Week is set to take place in December.
Great news for So You Think You Can Dance fans. Nigel Lythgoe tweeted today, “FOX has picked up #SYTYCD for it’s 9th season, it was announced today by Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox. [HOORAY].”

Nigel Lythgoe has started a new production company, Nigel Lythgoe Productions. A joint venture with Idol’s 19 Entertainment, through the new company, Nigel has projects “in various stages of development” at E!, TruTV and CBS, among other networks, including reality shows with heavy metal icon Alice Cooper, Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin, sex and relationship expert Dr. Laura Berman and executive producer Kim Kardashian.
