So You Think You Can Dance All Star Joshua Allen suddenly dropped out of the Next Generation season before it went live without an explanation.

When the Top 10 took the stage Marko Germar had stepped in to mentor Joshua’s young hip-hop dancer Sheadon. Joshua tweeted good luck to the Top 10 on Monday, but never offered a reason why he dropped out.

Joshua Allen — the season 4 winner of “So You Think You Can Dance” — faces serious time behind bars after allegedly attacking his girlfriend twice in a 2-month span.

He also strangled her in April, according to the D.A. At the time, she already had a criminal protective order against Allen for a prior domestic violence conviction.

Allen’s been charged with 2 felony counts of willfully injuring his girlfriend, 1 felony assault with a deadly weapon … and 4 misdemeanors related to battery, vandalism and violating the protective order.

If convicted … he faces more than 10 years in prison.

Joshua was previously convicted of a misdemeanor back in January. from The Wrap:

According to authorities, Allen was convicted of a misdemeanor count of willfully injuring the unnamed woman in January and was slapped with a protective order. However, the district attorney’s office said, Allen allegedly assaulted and strangled the same female on April 13, and on June 19, while facing prosecution on the April incident, he reportedly attacked her again.
