Survivor 33 Millennials vs Gen X Week 10 Recap and Live Blog

A special two-hour edition of Survivor: Millennials vs Gen X airs tonight on CBS! Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

The episode begins with Adam apologizing to the others for not telling them about the advantage. Adam is mad that his name was dragged through the mud, and he wants Jay out of this game badly. Jay is frustrated that Taylor took him down with him in the last tribal council. He’s really happy he still has an idol and is confident no one knows he has it. Meanwhile, Chris and Bret talk game. Bret wants Jay gone next, but Chris thinks it’s time to take Jessica out of the game. He thinks she’s a strategic threat that needs to leave sooner rather than later.

The next morning we see Ken and Hannah bonding as they sit on the beach watching the sunrise. Hannah is infatuated with Ken and is happy to be aligned with him. Meanwhile Will and Zeke are talking game. Will thinks Jay is a sinking ship, so he wants to break away from him. He reveals to Zeke that Jay has a hidden immunity idol to build trust with him. Afterwards, Zeke tells David that Jay has an idol. This news spreads, and we see Ken, Hannah, Chris, and Bret learn at different times about Jay’s hidden immunity idol. As Zeke and Chris talk about what to do, they agree to get Jay to play his idol thinking he’s the target. However, the actual target will be Jessica.

It’s now time for the reward challenge. They’ll be in two teams of five. They must all get on a raft and pull together to reach a platform. Afterwards, they will individually climb a ladder to collect a key and then jump off the platform. Once all the keys are collected, they must unlock blocks that have colors on the sides of them. The first tribe to build a tower of blocks with no colors repeating on either side wins reward (food). Since there is an uneven number of people left, one person will have to sit out. Whoever draws the odd rock will be excluded. Before the challenge begins, David volunteers to sit out. He feels like his swimming abilities are not up to par and he doesn’t want anyone to lose reward because of him. However, everyone motivates him to not volunteer to sit out. David is touched by this; he is overcome with emotion by their support. Afterwards, the challenge begins. The teams are:

PURPLE – Adam, Bret, Hannah, Sunday, and Zeke
ORANGE – Chris, David, Jessica, Ken, and Will

Jay drew the odd rock, so he will not compete. The challenge is fairly even, but it is the Purple team that completes the challenge first. Adam, Bret, Hannah, Sunday, and Zeke win reward!

We next see them enjoy reward. Hannah wants to be mindful of the people who did not win reward since there are close nearby, but Bret doesn’t care. He just wants to enjoy the reward and doesn’t mind being loud. As they are eating, someone brings out letters from home. Adam is in tears as he receives his letter. No one else knows that his mother has been diagnosed with cancer, so he’s really thankful to get news from home. He says that there’s a chance it wouldn’t be good news, but he reads that she is fine.

Meanwhile, David and Ken are talking on the beach. They see the boat out in the water where the reward is being held, and David laments the fact that they won’t be getting pizza and beer. Soon David gets emotional again and reiterates how grateful he is for his support. Ken praises him again and tells David that he has come so far. David also tells Ken that he is still on board with going to the Final 3 with him. Jessica soon joins the conversation, and the three of them agree that Chris needs to go next. David believes that the Chris, Bret, and Sunday trio is too strong and needs to be broken up. David believes he can get Zeke to turn on Chris. However, unbeknownst to him, Zeke already told Chris he’ll vote out Jessica at the next tribal council.

It’s now time for the immunity challenge. They must stand on a narrow beam while balancing a statue with a long pole. At various intervals, they will have to move farther away to increase the difficulty. If the statue falls or they fall off the beam, they will be eliminated from the challenge. The last person standing will win immunity. The first person to drop her statue is Hannah, and she is followed by Ken. Nine people remain when they reach the third section of the challenge as the beam is narrower and they are farther away from the statue. Sunday, Chris, Will, Jay, and Bret all get eliminated one after another. Later Adam is the next one out of the challenge, and he is followed by Jessica. David and Zeke are the last two left. Zeke drops the statue. David wins immunity!

The tribe returns to camp after the immunity challenge. Jay laments the fact he didn’t win immunity, and he doesn’t know what the plan is since no one is talking to him. He says he’ll play his idol if he feels like he’s in danger. Meanwhile, Zeke learns that the Gen X-ers are turning on each other. Chris wants Jessica gone; David wants Chris gone. David learns that Jessica is being targeted, and he lets Ken and Jessica know. Jessica talks game with Adam, and they agree they, Ken, David, and Hannah are solid. It comes down to Zeke though. Meanwhile, Zeke lets Hannah know that two sides think they are blindsiding the other. Zeke says he’s in a tough spot since he likes both Chris and David.

It’s time for tribal council. Jeff talks to Jay first, and he feels like he’s still on the outs. Jeff asks David his thoughts, and he says that there are voting blocs that have emerged. Either they all will be collectively taking out a mutual target, or there will be a blindside. Hannah comes up with the term trust clusters to define the situation they are in. One group will be victorious tonight, but which side will prevail? Sunday thinks the vote will be about who they can and cannot trust. Jeff asks if anyone feels nervous tonight, and Jessica says she does. She had a bad situation with the Gen X-ers earlier when she voted out Paul, but Chris says she has nothing to worry about. Jeff asks who is confident tonight, and several people admit to Jeff they are 100% certain the vote will go their way tonight, including Sunday and Chris. Afterwards, it’s time to vote.

We see Jessica and Chris vote for one another, but who will be voted out? Jeff gets the votes and asks if anyone wants to play a hidden immunity idol. Jay does not play his idol. The first vote is for…

Chris

Jessica

Chris

Jessica

Chris

Jessica

Chris

Jessica

Chris

Chris

Chris is voted out and the third member of the jury!

The tribe returns to camp after tribal council. Jay thought he had to play his idol, but no one really brought his name up. Jay decided to take a gamble and not play his idol. Meanwhile, Zeke and Bret talk alone. Bret says he is okay since he knew Chris could have won the whole game. However, Zeke tells Bret that he and Sunday are not on the bottom. We hear a confessional from Zeke, and now he’s considering targeting David and his close allies Ken and Jessica. The next morning David talks to Sunday and Bret. He says Jay needs to go next, but brings out the idea of voting out Zeke. However, Bret and Sunday already have agreed to team up with Zeke. After his conversation with David, Bret tells Zeke that David threw his name out. Zeke responds by telling Bret that David has a hidden immunity idol. After teaming up to vote out Chris, David and Zeke are now targeting each other.

Zeke brings Adam and Hannah out to the beach, and he wants their help to vote out David. He lets them know what he knows, including that David has a hidden immunity idol. We hear a confessional from Hannah, and she is unsure which side she’ll be on. She likes both David and Zeke.

It’s now time for the reward challenge. They will be in three teams of three. Their feet and hands will be bound together, forcing them to slither in the sand toward a team member. The next team member will then slither toward the third team member. After the third team member reaches the end, they can untie themselves and get to work on a snake puzzle. The first team to complete the puzzle will win reward: an island tour and a picnic. Since there are ten people, one person will have to sit out. Whoever draws a white rock won’t compete, but will automatically be part of the reward. The teams are…

Will, Ken, and Jay

Sunday, Zeke, and Bret

Hannah, Jessica, and Adam

David drew the white rock, so he’s already on the reward. The challenge begins, and Will, Ken, and Jay take an early lead. They get a big head start on the puzzle, but they struggle putting the pieces together. This allows the other teams to catch up. It’s a fairly even challenge, but it is Sunday, Zeke, and Bret who complete the puzzle first. Sunday, Zeke, and Bret win reward.

We next see Bret, David, Sunday, and Zeke on a helicopter before they enjoy food and drink. After David and Sunday wander off, Bret reveals to Zeke that he is gay. He tells this to Zeke to bond with him. They have a heart-to-heart conversation, but the talk turns to strategy when Sunday returns. They agree that David needs to be voted out next. Zeke believes he has loyal soldiers on his side to help him reach his goal.

Bret, David, Sunday, and Zeke return to camp. Hannah pulls David aside, and she lets him know what Zeke is up to. Hannah has decided to team up with David. However, she believes all will be well since Zeke still trusts Hannah. David wants the votes to fall his way so he plays his idol, and they vote Zeke out. However, Hannah wants to wait to see what Zeke plans to do. But she thinks they’ll be screwed if Zeke finds out Hannah is really working with David.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. They must complete a maze behind a doors with bars, so they won’t be able to see the maze. They must solve it with just their touch. Afterwards, they must unlock the door and then get to work on a slide puzzle. The first person to solve the puzzle wins immunity. The challenge begins, and Jay is the first person to start the slide puzzle. No one else solves the maze before Jay solves the puzzle. Jay wins immunity!

The tribe returns to camp after the immunity challenge. Jay is thrilled he won immunity, and he’s glad he still has the hidden immunity idol too. Meanwhile, David and Jessica talk game. He tells her that they have to vote out Zeke tonight since Zeke is gunning for him. Ken learns the plan, and he is on board since he’s promised he’ll go with David to the very end of the game. While this is happening, Zeke wants Hannah to side with him. However, as they are talking, Zeke says he realizes that Hannah does not have his best interest at heart. Instead, he wants to vote out Hannah tonight. Zeke gets his allies to agree to vote out Hannah tonight. Hannah also talks to Adam about voting out Zeke, but Adam is unsure about this plan. He says Hannah has been calling the shots too much. Hannah is feeling really nervous tonight, so she wants David to play his idol for her tonight. David says tonight’s vote will be an important one. He is very unsure what will happen and how he’ll play his idol.

It’s time for tribal council. Jeff asks if anyone feels confident about the vote, but no one raises his or her hand. Jay says he is the only one confident he’s safe. As Jay is talking, Adam and Hannah are whispering and everyone notices. The idea of trust clusters comes back, and this annoys Bret. He says it’s every man for himself. He and Zeke also make fun of David’s anxiety, and David says that was a personal attack. Adam and Hannah are still whispering as they discuss the vote. Zeke says that people are uncertain that people they’ve had conversations with will truly be true to their word, and that’s why people are still talking. Afterwards, it’s time to vote.

Jeff gets the votes and asks if anyone wants to play a hidden immunity idol. David plays his hidden immunity idol. Before he says who the idol is for, Adam tells David that he overheard people whispering to vote for Ken. David plays his idol for Ken.

The first vote is for…

Zeke

Hannah

Zeke

Hannah

Zeke

Hannah

Zeke

Hannah

Zeke

Hannah

It is a tie and Adam was wrong about the vote. They must revote. As they revote, Jessica is unsure what to do since she doesn’t want to go to rocks.

Jeff reads the votes again.

Hannah

Zeke

Hannah

Zeke

Hannah

Zeke

Hannah

Zeke

It is deadlock. If they cannot unanimously agree who to vote out, they will draw rocks. Will and Jessica tries to have everyone agree whom to vote out, but they are all unable to decide who to vote out. Therefore, Hannah and Zeke become safe. Jay and Ken are already safe. Everyone else will draw rocks. Whoever draws a black rock instead of a white rock will be eliminated from the game.

Jessica drew the black rock.

Jessica is out and the fourth member of the jury. She secretly wills her Legacy Advantage to Ken.
