Survivor 32 Kaoh Rong – Week 5 Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor: Kaoh Rong airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

The episode begins with Joe tending to an injured finger. Peter knows he is on the outs, so he goes into doctor mode. He wants the tribe to see him as useful, so he looks after Joe’s finger. He hopes this will make the tribe want to keep him. However, in a confessional, Neal calls Peter the cancer of the tribe since the other four are closely aligned. Neal also wants to make sure the hidden immunity idol is kept out of Peter’s hand. He goes looking for the hidden immunity idol, and he finds the clue. Without garnering any attention, he also manages to retrieve the key to unlock it too. Neal finds the hidden immunity idol.

Next the tribe meets Jeff. Instead of a challenge, Jeff tells them to drop their buffs. He tells them that due to Caleb’s evacuation, tribes of two would be uneven with thirteen players remaining. Therefore, whoever draws a red buff instead of blue or yellow will be alone. However, that person will be safe for this upcoming vote and will join the tribe that loses the next immunity challenge. Those who draw a blue buff will be on the new Chan Loh tribe and those who draw a yellow buff will be on the new Gondol tribe. The castaways draw their buffs.

Chan Loh – Cydney, Debbie, Jason, Michele, Neal, and Nick

Gondol – Anna, Aubry, Joe, Peter, Scot, and Tai

Red buff – Julia

Julia will go to the old Brawn beach alone. Gondol will go to the old Beauty beach and Chan Loh will go to the old Brain beach. At the new Gondol beach, Tai and Anna welcome the new people. Scot believes he is on the bottom of the totem pole, but that might not be the case. Since Julia is going to replace the next person voted out, Peter wants to take out a Beauty. Peter and Scot strategize, and Scot is on board with taking out a Beauty too. However, Aubry does not trust Peter. Over at Chan Loh, Debbie looks for an opening. She wants to work with Brawn. Debbie thinks she and Cydney could be a good duo, and Cydney agrees. Debbie speaks to Jason too and tells him her plan of bringing the two Brawns and two Brains together. He seems to be on board too. In a confessional, Debbie calls herself the mastermind behind the scenes.

Back at Gondol, Anna knows that a Beauty will be taken out. So she tries to talk Aubry into targeting Tai. Meanwhile, over at Chan Loh, Nick approaches Jason about bringing the Beauties and Brawn together. Jason is glad that he and Cydney will be the swing votes at the upcoming tribal council if they were to lose.

At the old Brawn beach, Julia is struggling living on the beach alone. In addition, she is getting paranoid wondering what is happening with the other tribes. She also believes that the chances of her alliance staying together are slim since she believes a Beauty will likely be the next one voted out.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. The challenge will be done in three parts. First two tribe members must race out into the water to retrieve puzzle pieces attached to a net. Next two other tribe members must untie the puzzle pieces. Lastly, the remaining two tribe members must solve the puzzle. The challenge begins with Nick and Jason and Scott and Aubry going out into the water for their respective tribes. They work on untying the net with all fourteen puzzle pieces attached. Both pairs make it back to the beach, and Michele and Cydney and Tai and Joe begin to untie the pieces and hook them to a pole. After the pieces have been carried to the puzzle station, Peter and Anna and Debbie and Neal work on solving the puzzle. It’s fairly close, but Debbie and Neal solve the puzzle first. Chan Loh wins immunity! Gondol will go to tribal council tonight. Unless something unexpected happens, either Tai or Anna will be voted out tonight to keep the Beauty numbers low.

Aubry, Joe, Peter, and Scot talk about whom to vote out. The majority wants Tai gone, but Peter insists that Anna should go. They all agree since the goal is to just take out a Beauty. Meanwhile, Tai really wants Peter gone. He doesn’t want to play his hidden immunity idol, but he feels like he might need to. Tai decides to tell Anna and Scot about his hidden immunity idol. Scot seems on board with letting Tai use the idol to take out Peter. However, Scot changes his mind. He later approaches Tai and tells him to save his hidden immunity idol since Anna is the target. Tai is now torn on what to do. He will bring his hidden immunity idol to tribal council and decide what to do there.

It’s time for tribal council. Anna and Tai admit that they know they are the targets. Even though Scot is the sole Brawn, they know they will keep Scot due to his asset in challenges. They both make their cases on why they should stay, and Tai discusses how hard he works around camp. The discussion turns to hidden immunity idols, and Joe doesn’t believe there are idols since none have made an appearance yet. Tai lies as he agrees with Joe that there doesn’t seem to be idols. The discussion ends with Peter being seemingly confident that he is safe and that either Anna or Tai will be going. Jeff calls him out on his cockiness and tells him that the game is never that predictable. New alliances could form and save either Tai or Anna. But what will happen tonight?

They all cast their votes. Before Jeff reads the first vote, Tai does not play his hidden immunity idol. The first vote is for…

Peter

Anna

Anna

Anna is the fifth person voted out of Survivor: Kaoh Rong.
