Travis Wall
choreographed a contemporary routine for Lauren Froderman and Kent Boyd with all-stars Mark Kanemura and Kathryn McCormick. Black Goth Umberllas. Kinda cool. Travis says the routine takes place in Paris in the 1920s–the dark and twisted people come out to celebrate a fallen empire. Cat asks Kent who his ideal woman is. Hm. Erm.

Adam Shankman welcomes Mia Michaels back to the show with a kiss and a hug. He tells the group, “That was sick, disgustingly good.” Then, he does a happy dance, he loved the routine so much. “Kent? I told you so, you’re this good buddy, ” says Adam, “The other contestants have something to be afraid of.” He’s totally psyched to see Lauren here. “Paris is Burning” by St. Vincent.  – VIDEO

Alexie Agdeppa has been trying to make it on to the show for years. It’s finally here time. She’s an ex-Laker girl and a UCLA grad! Melinda Sullivan is a tapper, singer and artist. She’s her own invention! Allison Holker and Lauren Gottlieb join them for a Broadway routine choreographed by Tyce DiOrio. They do a number from Sweet Charity. Oh. Melinda is definitely more than a tapper. She and the girls are dancing barefoot. Tyce says the dancers brought brilliance to the stage. Alexie is so excited to be here. Nigel Lythgoe says, he couldn’t tell the difference between the all-stars and the competitors, but the newbies need to bring the fire. – “There’s Got To Be Something Better Than This” from Sweet Charity (Original Broadway Cast) – VIDEO

Jose “Full Deck” Ruiz is the sole B-boy of the 11. And he’s “untrained”. Erm sure he is. Twitch, Comfort Fedoke and Domenic “D-Trix” Sandoval join him to dance a hip-hop routine choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon. Cat and Dominic flirt! NappyTabs are super proud of Jose. Adam ships Cat/Dominic! Adam tells Jose it’s important to bring the performance every week. Keep learning new tricks, says Adam. – “Din Daa Daa (District 78 Remix) by George Kranz. – VIDEO

Cristina Santana dances some Latin ballroom with Anya Garnis and Pasha Kovalev, choreographed by Jason Gilkison. Ménage à trois baby. Sexy. Pasha strips off his shirt. Hooray! Jason tells Cristina was amazing! Nigel says Cristina held her own with two of the greatest Latin dancers in the world. He thanks Jason for making his fantasies come true (NOT Pasha taking his shirt off) and gives Cristina a note–she’s got lazy feet and needs to pick them up. “Work (Freemason’s Radio Edit) by Kelly Rowland – VIDEO

Alex Wong and Billy Bell aren’t quite newbies. They were part of Season 5 and Season 6 respectively, but had to be cut. This year, they got fast-passes to Vegas. Ade Obayomi will join them to dance a contemporary routine choreographed by Mia Michaels. Her routine is about “The journey of time.” Billy is a little boy playing with a truck, Alex is the grown up and Ade is an old man with a cane. Wow. Mia. Wow. Alex and Billy are off the hook. Mia says it was an honor to choreograph for the 3. Mia calls Billy a freak of nature and Alex a powerful Stallion. A Beast. Let’s hear it for the freak and the beast! says Cat. – “This Bitter Earth/On The Nature of Daylight” by Dinah Washington/Max Richter – VIDEO

Adechike Torbert, Ashley Galvan and Robert Roldan dance a jazz routine with Neil Haskell and Courtney Galiano (love her!) choreographed by Sonya Tayeh. Love me some Sonya. S&M getup, danced to “Freak”. Sonya is hooting and hollering! She says the entire team “conquered it.” She tells Adechike he’s not an underdog. – “Freak” by Estelle feat. Kardinal Offshall – VIDEO

Next week the competition begins for real!
