The NBC show Smash, which features American Idol alum, Katharine McPhee has been renewed for a second season.
The show has averaged 7.7 million viewers and a 2.6 adult demo rating.
The ratings have been modest, but it’s enough for NBC to give it another go. Smash is a delicious behind the scenes look at the cut throat world of Broadway.
Although the plot twists can be ridiculous at times, the music is wonderful and there is some fine acting–particularly Megan Hilty who plays Ivy.
Katharine McPhee, as a newcomer, is making quite a splash as well.
