Tori Kelly in “serious” condition in ICU with blood clots around vital organs
Tori Kelly is currently hospitalized and getting treatment for blood clots around her vital organs. Reports say the situation is “really serious.”
Sources close to the American Idol season 9 alum tell TMZ that she was at dinner in downtown Los Angeles Sunday night with friends when her heart started beating really fast. Tori passed out, and was “out for a while.”
Tori’s friends wanted to make sure she wasn’t taken to a hospital downtown, and instead taken to Cedars-Sinai, which has has a stellar reputation, says TMZ’s source. Her friends carried her outside, loaded her in a vehicle and sped to the hospital instead of calling an ambulance.
Currently, according to TMZ, Tori’s getting care in the ICU. Doctors have discovered blood clots in Tori’s legs and her lungs, and are still working to determine if any clots are around her heart. The singer’s been in and out of consciousness during her hospitalization.

At 16 years old, Tori the American Idol judges cut her from season 9 in 2010 right before the Top 24. The singer went on to become a Youtube star and sign a record deal. She took home Grammys in 2019 for Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance/Song and won the Billboard Women in Music Breakthrough Artist Award in 2015.

Tori has performed on American Idol after her run, including singing duets with Top 24 contestants in 2021. In 2016, she served as a Battle Advisor for Team Adam Levine on The Voice. She also competed on The Masked SInger season 4 in 2020 as the Seahorse, but was cut from the competition in the semi-finals.
The singer’s EP Tori is due out on July 28.
