Simon Cowell Will Appear ‘Virtually” on Britain’s Got Talent Due to AGT

Simon Cowell will miss the Britain’s Got Talent semi- finals for the first time, due to scheduling problems. Because America’s Got Talent and Britain’s got Talent will be airing live shows at the same time, Simon had to choose between the two shows. And Simon chose to appear on America’s Got Talent in person.

But all is not lost. Simon WILL appear on the Britain’s Got Talent judges panel, but via remote video from the United States.

Normally, Britain’s Got Talent’s season would be over by now. But BGT production shut down earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, pushing the semi-final round to the fall.

However, Simon hopes to be able to return for the BGT final in October. By then, the America’s Got Talent season will be over, allowing Simon to head back home to the UK.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Simon is gutted to not be physically there for the semi- finals, but he’ll be there virtually, casting an eye over the talent and imparting his views in every show.

“He can keep an eye on [fellow judge] David Walliams to make sure he doesn’t get too big for his boots while Simon is in the States.

“Normally, schedules mean Simon can do both but AGT’s dates haven’t moved while BGT’s have due to coronavirus.”

Simon has been ever-present on BGT since it first came to UK’s ITV television in 2007. The interrupted series is set to return with a recap clip show. It will then air semi- finals on Saturday nights during the autumn.
