According to American Idol supervising producer, Patrick Lynn, more than 6, 000 hopefuls registered by 6 am at the Superdome this morning as the Season 10 auditions in New Orleans got underway.
Lynn says they don’t have a quota, but expect about 100 people to move on to the next round.
Ryan Seacrest was on hand today, broadcasting his KIIS LA morning show from the Big Easy (and snapping photos like the one above). Also, according to Idols Now, Justin Guarini was on the scene for the TV Guide Network.
Approximately 16, 000 singers auditioned in Nashville on July 17, and the Milwaukee auditions on July 21 attracted an additional 10, 000, according to an Idol press release.
