- Nick Fradiani is singing Teenage Dream this week and this is how Scott describes it: “It’s like Nick meets the Goo Goo Dolls and a little bit of Florida Georgia Line injected in there. Nick is a huge country fan and some of that is starting to come out.”
- Scott says to look out for Joey Cook’s cover of Miley Cyrus‘s “Wrecking Ball,” Jax’s version of Lady Gaga‘s “Poker Face” and Clark Beckham’s take on Ed Sheeran‘s “Make It Rain.”
- On Daniel Seavey leaving the competition last week, Scott says the right person went home. “He had been suffering from laryngitis and he did not have a good performance. Had he won it would have been for the wrong reasons. He just flat couldn’t hit the notes.”

Scott thinks Clark Beckham’s next step is to sing a “pure pop” song (He’s singing Ed Sheeran’s Make it Rain). Jax continues to defy gravity, he says. Joey Cook continues to “dazzle” when she brings her own arrangement to a song. Nick Fradiani is bringing his guitar back. Scott says he is continuing his “momentum” (He’s really bullish on Nick!). Scott wants to see Quentin Alexander rock (his song this week is “Latch” by Disclosure) Scott seems to be really exasperated with Rayvon Owen “Dude, come with it” he says. He notes that Qaasim Middleton “wasn’t great” last week, and he’s going to have to be really careful. He feels Tyanna Jones “rocked it” last week. “We’re starting to see some different emotions out of her,” he says. He also mentions how the contestants get so much critical input from so many people. He reminds them to stay true to themselves.
