Sales Numbers – Week Ending 03/29/2018

Likely due to the fact that we are going into a holiday weekend, HDD has not published its building sakes/SPS charts. So, we’ll look at the streaming charts.

On the Country charts, Lauren Alaina’s duet with school-friend Kane Brown (“What Ifs”) may have gone re-current on Country radio months ago, but it remains in the top 5 of streamed Country songs. Is it popular with the younger crowds, crossing over or tapping new demographics? I’m sure the industry is watching and attempting to learn. Speaking of duets, “The Fighter” from Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood is still on the charts as well. The only solo from the artists we watch is Scotty McCreery’s “Five More Minutes”.

Over on the main streaming chart, it is all about the X-Factor. Normani and Camilla Cabello first got their start on XF-US as they were formed into Fifth Harmony. The group had relatively big successes for reality competition stars on the streaming platform and that is carrying over to their efforts as solo artists. Normani’s song is from the “Love, Simon” soundtrack while Camila’s two songs are from her debut album.
