What the heck is happening to So You Think You Can Dance? The Nigel Lythgoe produced dance competition saw its ratings for last night’s results show fall 20% from last week! OUCH.
According to EW the episode hit an all-time summer low with 5 million viewers and a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating.
Could competition with The Voice the past few weeks have hurt So You Think You Can Dance? It’s possible. Although SYTYCD had no meaningful competition last night, folks who missed the performance episode, aren’t going to bother to tune in for the results.
Also, there is usually one popular recording artist scheduled to perform on the results show–last week it was LMFAO, the week before, the new Lady Gaga video premiered. Last night, the only special guests were a couple of talented, but unknown, dance troupes.
