Dancing With the Stars pro, Mark Ballas swears he had nothing to do with Pia Toscano’s scheduled appearance on next week’s DWTS results show.
“We’re not allowed to know stuff, ” he told reporters backstage after the show, “I can’t get up and go, ‘Can we get John Mayer on the show this Tuesday?’ We have no say whatsoever.”
“I get to dance with Karina [Smirnoff]. Pia is going to sing, which is going to be amazing. She’s a ridiculously amazing vocalist.”
“It’s a first, ” Mark says of an Idol castoff appearing before the Idol season ends.
Mark is not permitted to spoil the details about the song or dance routine. but he does reveal that Pia will sing “something slow.” No! Really? Heh. I wonder which ballad from Idol Pia will sing? Hmm…. I think I’ll run a poll after the jump!
Idol and DWTS both tape their shows in the CBS studios in Hollywood. Mark’s star partner, Chelsea Kane, notes, “We hang out backstage, it’s so funny. We’ll be in the elevators, and it’s just the Idols and the dancers.”
