  1. Daugthry doesn’t get nominated for everything…they didn’t get an AMA nod this year or a Grammy one last year. It was an annoying ballot but I made it through…I was kind of surprised at some of the choices and lack of some as well…hmmmm

  2. That’s so weird that they give a list of potential people to vote to have a nomination, and then let people write in someone too lol. It’s too bad no one besides Carrie and Daughtry were on the lists, but with some of those crazy spamming blocks out there I’m sure we will seem some more nominated. It’s cool to see Carrie’s stint on HIMYM get some recognition lol!

  3. It’s nice they have a place for writing in another name for each nomination. :)

  4. Adam is not nominated for anything? balls! i could not care less for carrie or any of the other idols…

  5. I see Adam’s official website already has the instructions up, for spamming the PCAs, so never fear, fans.

  6. Last year Adam and Kris both got nominated for Favorite Breakout Artist. I’m a little surprised that they didn’t at least put Lee or Crystal on the ballot

  7. LOL @ People’s choice nominating a 9 year old child for an award. I mean would we even care if she wasn’t Will/Jada Smith’s daughter while fiercely promoted by the likes of Jay-z? Nothing against her but this vicious monopolistic cycle the music industry has gotten itself into really needs to blow over. Just sayin’ real artistry doesn’t seem to be taken too seriously these days.

I see Adam’s official website already has the instructions up, for spamming the PCAs, so never fear, fans.

That is a fan post — not an official post. And there are similar post on other artist’s official sites.

And highly doubtful that most Adam fans will waste much time on this award.

Daugthry doesn’t get nominated for everything…they didn’t get an AMA nod this year or a Grammy one last year.

They didn’t have anything that qualified for the 2010 Grammy’s did they? Their new album was released in the 2011 Awards year.

And the AMA nominees were picked from the Big Campaign Ultimate chart artists — only 2 Idols in the Top 100 are Carrie and Adam. And Adam wasn’t even in the top 10 male Pop stars on the chart, so nominating him made no sense. (As if?)

Dughtry got a ton of awards and nominations in 2007-2008 after their debut album – and deserved them. No so much since then.

  9. And highly doubtful that most Adam fans will waste much time on this award

LOL Okay, sorry I’m going to have to disagree with you.

  10. Well if Adam ends up on the PCA ballot, I will say I was wrong. But many of the Adam fangroups have already decided to pass on this one and save their energy for something that matters. And most fans realize that Adam has little chance to get a nomination for Favorite Male Artist or Favorite Pop Artist. Maybe next year!

ETA: Even on AO.com there is not a groundswell of support for this effort — fewer than 20 posts on that thread. Will not go anywhere.

  11. Well if Adam ends up on the PCA ballot, I will say I was wrong.

I see a lot of tweets from Adam fans to the People’s Choice award.
Even if Adam doesn’t end up on the ballot that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a concerted effort to get him there. LOL.

  12. no different from the concerted effort Danny’s fans who are tweeting regarding his nomination. They are spamming all kinds of folks asking them to vote.

  13. no different from the concerted effort Danny’s fans who are tweeting regarding his nomination. They are spamming all kinds of folks asking them to vote.

Wow, you must follow a lot more Danny fans than I do ; I haven’t seen any of that in my timeline except for tweets to other Danny fans to vote. I saw one tweet to Carrie’s fans (who BTW there are certainly mutual Carrie/Danny fans).

He is officially nominated; I guess I expect fans to get the word out. I really doubt anyone who doesn’t like Danny will be persuaded, lol. There is always some over excited fans around of course, but I think it is to be expected that fans will tweet about it.

  14. all you have to do is search and you can see @mentions of a twitter name. I looked because of the comments that others were posting about Adam fans and was just trying to point out that fans of others are really no different when it comes to voting for their favorites.

  15. no different from the concerted effort Danny’s fans who are tweeting regarding his nomination. They are spamming all kinds of folks asking them to vote.

    Awesome, hope it works ;)

I’ve seen spamming on lots stupider things, lol. Twitter petitions and the like, for one.

  16. And there are similar post on other artist’s official sites.

I … was just trying to point out that fans of others are really no different when it comes to voting for their favorites.

I was just responding to the posters who indicated they were diappointed Adam wasn’t nominated. So I mentioned that his fans seemed to be mounting an effort to spam the write-in vote.

If you’ll notice, Adam’s fans happened to be about the only fans here who were complaining about the nominations. I’m sure other fans also spam these things, but I was only responding to comments, here, stating or implying disappointment that Adam had not been nominated. So, I only mentioned his fan’s efforts to try to get him nominated.

It wasn’t meant as a dig at his fans vs. other people’s fans, or meant to imply his fans are any different from anybody else’s.

They didn’t have anything that qualified for the 2010 Grammy’s did they? Their new album was released in the 2011 Awards year

Yes, that’s when they qualified…Leave This Town was released 7/14/09 so it was eligible for 2010 as was their first single No Surprise.

  18. I definitely hope the Danny fans are going to step up and try to get him voted in for the award.

And that those of Kris or Adam or others would do the same for their fave when a realistic opportunity presents itself. (Don’t think the PCA write-in votes are likely to yield much fruit, though I did a token vote anyway.)

Funny, saw in comments on an article today at a mainstream media site about the ACA awards, someone posted that the awards process was a crock because Adam hadn’t been nominated, lol. I assume they must have just been highly confused, and not meaning Adam should have received a country awards nom for his take on RoF :)

  19. steph6449, you seem to have misread my comment. You put “Danny’s” in brackets, as if I was talking about Danny’s fans. I was talking about Adam’s fans when I said “his fans.” I didn’t say anything about Danny in my post.

  20. ross, oh. oops. Deleted the blockquote if it was out of context.

As far as the Danny fans though, I hope they keep spamming away until at least Nov 8th ;)

Winning that ACA award isn’t a make or break career type of thing IMO, but it would certainly be quite nice for him to win after he was nominated.

  21. Awesome, hope it works

    lol.

I definitely hope the Danny fans are going to step up and try to get him voted in for the award….

Hopefully enough Danny fans will step up and try and help him win. Especially since the word is now getting out there. I hope he wins, and would be happy if he got to at least perform on the show. Or at the very least present on it.

It would be nice if he won for the inagrugal season of these awards. Maybe this awards show will end up being a popular awards show. Every awards show has to start somewhere. And if he wins, he will be the very first winner for the Breakthrough artist award.

I also saw that some people (on Twitter) were upset about Danny’s nomination and thought he was nominated for an AMA instead of an ACM. I think there was some confusion regarding his nomination.

  22. That is a fan post — not an official post. And there are similar post on other artist’s official sites.

I think you need to go look again at AO. RCa ModEd has posted to do it. RCA and Sony both have tweeted to do it, so the label is behind it.

Go to the Peoples Choice twitter and just about every tweet is about Lambert. Let the spamming begin.

  23. I retract my previous post — because RCA has taken a position on the PCA’s…RCA Promo tweeted this…

    RCA promo: Adam Lambert #everycategory #PeoplesChoice @AdamLambert

Adam fans have responded with write-ins for Adam in every category that makes sense — and some that don’t.

Happened after my post and I think it is unfortunate. But the craziness has begun.

ETA: regarding Daughtry — I guess I have a mental block on that last album — I keep thinking it was released last Fall. Urgh!

  24. I also saw that some people (on Twitter) were upset about Danny’s nomination and thought he was nominated for an AMA instead of an ACM. I think there was some confusion regarding his nomination.

    ACA, lol. :)

It does get confusing with all the three-letter awards. Not to mention the CMAs coming up, and the ICMs just recently presented. And that’s just country ;)

  25. ACA, lol.

    lol oops. :)

  26. It does get confusing with all the three-letter awards.

I know I confuse them all the time. At least ICM has an I in there instead of all those A’s and C’s

I think I will confine my “spamming” lol to voting daily for Danny’s legit nom; as well as for the other country stars I like. And the AMAs also. Go Carrie!

  27. Ok so some fans of Danny and Adam are mobilizing as we speak to get those two on the ballot for the People’s Choice Awards. I don’t have a problem with that, that is what some fans like to do.

Is anyone surprised Lee isn’t nominated?

ETA – I took out the part about Archie and Cook not being nominated, as I guess they were their year.

  28. Ok so some fans of Danny and Adam are mobilizing as we speak to get those two on the ballot for the People’s Choice Awards. I don’t have a problem with that, that is what some fans like to do.

Is anyone surprised Lee isn’t nominated? At first I was, then I checked back to Cook’s season and neither Cook or Archie were nominated. I was surprised by that because I still believe Cook’s fanbase is bigger than both Adam’s and Kris’s.

I’m not sure how PCA decides who makes the ballot.

LOL at RCA/Sony asking Adam’s fans to vote. Is this usual? Did they do that for Cook his year?

I think that RCA Promo tweeting to vote for Adam is strange. Why Adam and not some of their other artists? And I do not recall anyone official (RCA or 19) ever asking Adam fans to vote in one of these popularity award shows before.

  29. I think that RCA Promo tweeting to vote for Adam is strange. Why Adam and not some of their other artists? And I do not recall anyone official (RCA or 19) ever asking Adam fans to vote in one of these popularity award shows before.

Maybe because they can? I don’t know. Maybe they feel Adam’s fans will respond with action. shrugs…

By the way, I edited my previous post because I guess the Davids were nominated their year for a PCA? It doesn’t state it on their personal wiki pages, so can someone confirm for sure they did get noms? If they did, to me, then Lee not getting a nom is unusual.

Are Lee’s fans organzing? And you are right about the RCA request seeming odd. Why isn’t RCA asking Lee’s fans to vote? Or are they? I haven’t been to his website.

  30. Based on what is in the news reports the Favorite BREAKOUT MUSIC ARTIST category was not on the PCA’s in 2009 so it looks like Cook and Archie were not nominated but the category didn’t exist.

I can see no activity on Lee’s official site about the PCA’s — official or unofficial. Maybe tomorrow.

But there are so many more Adam fans than Lee fans active on Twitter and AO.com and ALF are so much bigger than Lee’s site that it is not that surprising.

RCA Promo tweeted two artists for the PCA’s

So I think they want Lee fans focused on the new album.

  31. Hey Q3, but did the PCA’s have a different category like best male reality star? It’s not that important, but I was just trying to see if idols usually get a nom each year. I’ll check MJ’s archives.

  32. Thanks Q3. I checked in MJ’s archives as well and it doesn’t appear that the Davids did get a nom. It was Jordin and Carrie who got noms in 2008.

  33. I don’t think there is any real campaign going on for Danny fans about the People’s Choice, just for the ACAs where he’s been nominated. Maybe just a couple of enthusiastic fans out there.

Certainly nothing like Adam’s case if RCA is encouraging write-in votes for Adam.

  34. RCA Promo just tweeted for Daughtry.

Some Adam fans are doing PCA votes because RCA tweeted it. But unless Adam tweets it, it will remain relatively small. IF Adam tweet the PCA vote tweet — then many more Adam fans will join in and with more passion.

Not sure if there is any value to a PCA nomination — maybe to winning. But since fans had trouble even remembering last year’s nominations, think it proves that it is not that important one way or the other. (Gotta go! Need to turn in my quota of 100,000 Adam votes!! Just kidding!)
