TV presenter Peaches Geldof, second daughter of musician Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, has died aged 25, reports the BBC. She leaves a husband and two sons.
Her father released a statement:
Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. [Geldof’s husband] Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.
Police were called to an address in Kent, England, Monday afternoon, and say the death is currently being treated as “Unexplained and sudden.”
Peaches was only 11 when her mother died of an accidental drug overdose in 2000. After she split with Bob Geldof, she entered a relationship with INXS frontman, Michael Hutchence, who died in 1997.
She was married to Thomas Cohen, with whom she had two sons, Astala and Pahedra, both under 2 years of age.
Cohen has also issued a statement:
My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons. I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever.
In her final tweet, posted on Sunday, she linked to an instagram photo of her as a baby in her mother’s arms.

I remember when Paula Yates died, he took in the entire family, including the young daughter Paula had with the late Hutchence. I always admired him for that selfless move. Condolences out to the entire family. The sudden death of a young person is the worst thing that can happen to a family.
