Paula Abudul’s Manager Denies She’s Returning to Idol

It get’s curiourser and curiouser.

Paula Abdul’s manager, David Sonenberg told the LA Times today that she and Idol producers have not resumed negotiations.

Why would Paula be talking to Fox? She’s far to busy planning her future beyond Idol. And according to Sonenberg, the offers are coming “fast and furious.” He promises that fans will soon know what her post Idol plans are.

Sonnenburg says, that there have been “no discussions whatsoever about ‘Idol.” While he’d never count anything out, Paula has other plans right now.

Also not happening? LA Times sources have denied the RadarOnline story that has Fox conducting focus group polling to gauge interest in the new celebrity guest judges and to determine if they should bring back Paula.

Paula not only has no interest in Idol,   Sonenberg says, she has no interest in working with Fox, period. She has no plans at the moment to join ex-Idol producer, Nigel Lythgoe on So You Think You Can Dance.

Those interested in working with Paula, according to Sonenberg, are: All of the other major networks, independent cable channels, major corporations, and live entertainment businesses. Plus, she’s received offers about book deals, clothing lines and cosmetic brands.

Not only would Paula like to perform and mentor, but she hopes to wear executive producer and creative developer hats as well.

Sounds ambitious!

Whose sources to believe? Sonenberg’s little interview sounded like more media posturing for the benefit of the Idol folks. See? Look how in demand our Paula is! Now cough up the bucks…

We shall see. It ain’t over until it’s over. And something tells me it’s not over…
