On Tuesday night … Paris posted some cryptic tweets, including, “I wonder why tears are salty?” … and “yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they’re here to stay.”
Paris’s biological mother, Debbie Rowe, confirms the news with E News. That poor kid has been through a lot. The death of of her father in 2009, child molestation charges surfacing against MJ in the last few weeks, the constant hounding by the gossip press and paparazzi. Poor kid
Rowe tells E Online that her daughter attempted suicide because she was forbidden from attending a Marilyn Manson concert. WHAT? No. She had obviously had issues before that. Please don’t trivialize your kid’s problems.
ETA: A statement from Katherine Jackson, via her lawyer:
“Being a sensitive 15 year old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family’s privacy.”
According to a 911 dispatch call, Paris took 20 Motrin and cut herself with a kitchen knife.
A source confirms to Us Weekly that she also left a suicide note.
The insider says, however, that the teen realized her mistake pretty quickly. “I know Paris freaked out and regretted what she had done after she had done it,” the source tells Us. “That’s when she cried for help. That saved her life.”
Indeed, a source tells Us that Paris has never fully recovered from her famous father’s June 2009 death at age 50 of a drug overdose. “This really all comes from her not yet over her dad being gone,” the insider says. “It’s been so hard to adjust to stepping back into the world.”
Another source said: “She has major depression issues, a lot of it stemming from her dad’s death. It’s very real and very sad. She has been extremely depressed and not been able to sleep lately, staying up all night.”
