So, after Owen Danoff was eliminated in 11th place from The Voice earlier this week, the coaches who didn’t mentor him had things to tell him backstage after the show! Particularly Pharrell Williams who so vociferously and passionately plead with America to save his singer, Daniel Passino from elimination (which they did).
“You killed it, you gave your heart, and it was amazing my friend,” said Pharrell. “Trust me!”
Christina Aguilera appeared out of nowhere to wipe away a few tears (awwwww….) as Owen was consoled by his coach Adam Levine. “Oh sweet pea, don’t cry!” she soothes.
As Shalyah Fearing holds back tears, Pharrell continues, “His future doesn’t erase! If anything, it begins now!” The rest of the Top 10 begin happily clapping in agreement (easy for them…just sayin’!) before they break out in chants of “OWEN OWEN OWEN.”
“I kind of mentally prepared myself for this happening,” Owen says in the clip. “Adam has believed in me since day one of this. The fact that he still does…means the world.”
And as far as kind words from the other coaches go, Owen offers, “”If any other coaches are supportive, it’s cool! They’re not your coach, so for them to say these things…and to be thinking about you is really meaningful.”
Owen’s experience on The Voice bolstered his confidence. “I think it’s made me more comfortable in my own skin as an artist and just really renewed my drive for doing this.”
Next up for Owen: He and fellow Team Adam singer, Michael Schiavo will be playing a concert at The Hamilton in Washington DC on June 30. Click here for tickets.
