Liam Payne of One Direction has been causing controversy lately. Last week, he took to twitter to apologize for photos taken of the singer standing dangerously close to the edge on a 34 story roof ledge, calling the snaps and the behavior “stupid and irresponsible.”
He has also been apologizing to fans for not stopping to take photos with them outside his residence, explaining, “Sorry if I’ve been rude to anyone but I’ve come to realise if I take one picture more people keep coming everyday xxx hope everyone’s good”
Once again, the twitterverse is mad at him, but Liam is not apologizing! The drama began when Liam tweeted kudos to Will Robertson, member of the Duck Dynasty clan, and son of the controversial Phil Robertson, who raised ire when he made racist and homophobic remarks in a GQ interview.
@williebosshog huge love to you/your family huge respect for your business prosperities and the family values you still all behold. big fan
— Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 18, 2014
As you would expect, there was immediate, and negative reaction, which Liam responded to:
Being a fan of someones show and the way they still hold a family together doesnt mean i am ok with all they say. — Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 18, 2014
After responding to a few fans, with responses like “…people can love who they want , its none of my business” and “its just ruining twitter for me” Liam signed off of the social network. But then, he was back a few hour later, furious at the bloggers and news sources that picked reported his tweet. And then the rant began:
Oh my god can someone literally not be a fan if a show without bring labeled WTf I bought dinner the other day it made a news story — Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 19, 2014
What I gotta do to please you bastards I’m a 20 year old just living life as you did when u where twenty but in extraordinary circumstances — Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 19, 2014

And I know I’m playing into your hands writing these tweets but I’m sick of stupid stories it’s time you all grow up — Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 19, 2014
And write about things that actually matter not what im gunna have for dinner tomorrow or who I’m a fan if real stories — Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 19, 2014
Rule number one: DO NOT GOOGLE YOURSELF. To be fair, although I’m giving Liam a big side eye, and questioning his judgement, I wouldn’t categorize his initial tweet as “homophobic.”
Look at this shit I never said any if that write about something real for once there’s plenty of issues In the world pic.twitter.com/FDsqtyr5Ht — Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 19, 2014
I just watched a show and I liked it as most people do stop sitting in my twitter and do your research #lazyjournos — Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 19, 2014
After popular gay blogger, Tyler Oakley, expressed disappointment, Liam responded:
@tyleroakley that changes everything you obviously wernt a fan I said nothing I liked a show that was on my tv nothing about you or whatever — Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 19, 2014
And then more ranting at journalists and bloggers, Liam careful to point out that he’s not mad at his fans:
All those tweets are aimed at journalists and bloggers not fans — Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 19, 2014

— Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) January 19, 2014
HA HA at the acknowledgement that he’ll be hearing from his PR people today. He might be a bit of a slow learner.
What was he thinking, tweeting congratulations to the Duck Dynasty people? Of course he was going to get a negative reaction after tweeting support to someone who stands for homophobia and racism in many people’s minds. Is it possible he’s in such a bubble, he doesn’t follow the news?
It looks like Liam is taking a break from twitter after last night. A wise decision. Finally.
