One Direction – One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks) – Brit Awards 2013

One Direction performed their charity single at last night’s Brit Awards. They also won won Global Success Award.

One Direction performed their cover of Blondie’s “One Way or Another” at Brit Awards 2013.

They were nominated for “Best British Group”, but lost to Mumfold & Sons. Taylor Swift was also in attendance. She first presented “Best British Female” award to Emeli Sande and later performed “I Knew You Were Trouble.” The cameras were constantly on Harry Styles during her appearances.

Olly Murs was nominated for “Best British Male” and “Best British Single”, but lost in both categories. The Official Charts Company revealed that if Brit Awards were based on sales, One Direction and Olly Murs would win “Best British Group” and “Best British Male” awards respectively. Lana Del Rey took home “Best International Female” award. Rihanna is the best selling artist in this category, but I guess her multi-year domination had to end at some point. For the second year in a row “Best British Female” and “British Album of the Year” awards went to the same artist. Last year to Adele and “21”, this year to Emeli Sande and “Our Version of Events”.

Simon Cowell was also sitting in the audience, his table was next to One Direction’s.

Other performers: Muse (Supremacy), Robbie Williams (Candy), Justin Timberlake (Mirrors), Mumfold & Sons (I Will Wait), Emeli Sande (Next to Me, Clown)
