Producer, songwriter and member of the legendary dance band, Nile Rodgers, has announced via twitter that he is this week’s special guest mentor on American Idol!
Nile already has a connection to American Idol via a couple of collaborations with season 8 runner-up, Adam Lambert. Nile played on “Shady,” from the singer’s second studio album, Trespassing. The two also collaborated with Avicii on his track, “Lay Me Down,” from the album 2013 album, True.
This week, the Top 11 are preparing songs for a “Songs from The Movies” theme. The movie Idol will be promoting, in conjunction with the theme, is the DreamWorks Animation/Twentieth Century Fox movie Home.
Conveniently, judge Jennifer Lopez voices the character “Lucy Tucci,” and will be performing the theme song, “Feel The Light” on the upcoming March 19 telecast, airing on FOX at 8/7c pm. Home is set to hit theaters March 27.
