New Music Releases: Joey Cook, Matt McAndrew

It’s a holiday weekend for North Americans, consequently new music releases are a little sparse. However we do have new stuff from a couple of our favorite reality stars, American Idol 14 singer Joey Cook and The Voice 7 runner-up, Matt McAndrew.

Joey Cook & the Partyraddlers – Welcome to the Variety Show

Joey Cook’s quirky accordion and ukulele accompanied covers on Idol made her an instant fan favorite. Her elimination in 7th place meant she wouldn’t make the Top 5 summer tour. But there was an upside–it allowed the singer to begin planning what she dubbed her “big girl album.” And here it is. The eclectic 10 song set, Welcome to the Variety Show, from Joey and her band, the Paddyraddlers contains the offbeat charms of the singer’s best Idol performances. Season 14 bff Quentin Alexander lends a hand on vocals, too. Check out the “Bones” music video.

Besphrenz feat Matt McAndrew

Matt McAndrew’s goal to write, produce and record an EP is guaranteed with a Pledgemusic drive that’s at 106% and still going strong. The forthcoming EP is titled Rush in Slowly, but Matt jokes he might “pull a Kanye” and change the name. Ha. In the meantime, for The Voice 7 runner-up’s music starved fans, there is a new collaboration with Besphrenz titled “MIA.” The melodic, upbeat pop tune is available now on iTunes and Soundcloud.
