The new MTV series, Faking It, has been renewed for a 10 episode second season ahead of its season 1 finale tomorrow night.
The show, starring American Idol 9 alum, Katie Stevens, “is the highest-rated new series launch on MTV so far this year, averaging a 1.5 rating among the network’s target demographic of persons 12-34 and 1.4 million total viewers each week.” according to Deadline, which broke the news.
“Airing at 10:30 PM, it retains nearly 90% of its lead-in, MTV flagship comedy Awkward, and regularly ranks as one of the Top 10 most socially-engaged MTV logo-cprimetime cable series on Tuesday.”
“Faking It has proved to be the perfect companion show to Awkward,” Susanne Daniels, President of MTV Programming said. “We’re excited about [executive producer] Carter Covington’s delicious plans for season two.”
Faking It is a romantic comedy about two best friends, Karma (Katie Stevens) and Amy (Rita Volk), who keep up the ruse of being a lesbian couple after a mistaken outing launches them into instant popularity at their high school.
