Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Nov 4-10

Five milestones this week – three from the same person.

Kelly Clarkson heralds the start of the Christmas radio season by debuting three songs on the AC chart. Her original “Underneath the Tree” opens in the top 40 while her covers of “Blue Christmas” and “Please Come Home For Christmas” start in the top 50. Hopefully, this bodes well for her having the Christmas album of the season dispatching the Duck Dudes to novelty bit bucket. Also appearing with Christmas songs this week are Whitney Wolanin, Mary J. Blige and Johnny Mathis. Kelly’s UtT is the top debuter.

Over on Pop, One Direction is aiming to be the stuffing stocker of the season. Their “Story of My Life” fuses pop with the popular folk sound and jets into the top 30. Their album is set to debut in the frenetic Christmas buying season on November 26th.

Finally, we have Mandisa continuing to rule over the CAC chart for her 8th week.
