Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Nov 11-18

A massive 8 milestones to report this week – 6 from Idol, 1 from each of the Voice and X-Factor.

Kelly repeats her accomplishments of last week by having yet another three milestones this week. Her Christmas songs are racing up the AC chart. In the lead is “Underneath the Tree” (an original Christmas song) that had the biggest spincrease of the week (so big, it would have been good enough for 24th all on its own) to drive into the top 20. “Please Come Home for Christmas” and Blue Christmas” both moved into the top 30. AC is starting to see some major spincrease losses due to the arrival of Christmas songs.

Over on HAC, Daughtry crosses a hurdle to get into the top 15 (they had been stalled outside for a little while) with their “Waiting for Superman”. Good timing because their album is being released this week (Danielle from The Voice is also releasing an album this week).

On Country, we have two milestones. Cassadee Pope winner of the third season of The Voice achieves top 15 with her debut single “Wasting All These Tears”. Scotty, working his debut single from his second studio album (not counting his Christmas album) moves firmly into the top 30 (after a bit of a wait outside). Top 30 is always nice to make because one starts being featured on countdown shows, sometimes on stations one wasn’t previously spun on. New audiences are often helpful.

Emblem3, representing X-Factor US, achieves top 50 on Pop radio with their “3000 Miles”. This is their second single (I wish it were their third so I could make a comment about all those “3”s).

Finally, we have Mandisa continuing to rule over the CAC chart for her 9th week.

Jennifer Hudson’s “I Can’t Describe” returns to the top 20 on UAC.
