Monday Morning Mediabase Update: June 23-29

On this last day of June, we have 2 milestones. With the July 4th holiday falling on a Friday, expect a bloodbath on the charts next week because many stations will go to countdown lists.

American Idol Season 11 7th place finisher (7-11?) Colton Dixon is back on the charts this week. His “More of You” is anchoring his second album (ha-ha I wrote that line before knowing the title for his second album “Anchor”). It debuts on the CAC chart this week.

From X-Factor UK, we have Cher Lloyd featured on Demi’s single “Really Don’t Care”. The song moved into the top 20 on Pop. Cher has been opening for Demi who was a judge on the US version of X-Factor.

Over on Urban, the 7th place finisher from Idol’s 3rd season, Jennifer Hudson, returns to the top 30 with “Walk it Out”. This is the debut single for her third album and she performed it on the BET Awards last night.
