Monday Morning Mediabase Update: June 16-22

Just like last week, we get three milestones this week…this week they are all from Idol’s (and a duet with a Nashville Star-er).

Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert are proving that it’s all good to play females on Country radio. Their duet “Somethin’ Bad” goes top 30 in the format with the third highest bullet (the other two higher bullets are debuting on the chart).

Also reaching a Monday milestone on Country is Scotty McCreery. His second single (“Feelin’ It”) from his second album has been toeing the top 40 line for a while (and crossed it on the weekly published chart), but this is the first week it’s been top 40 on Monday morning. Scotty’s songs like to spend an agonizingly long time just outside of a milestone and then scooch up quickly to hang outside of another milestone.

Meanwhile, a former country act is charging up the AC chart. Danny Gokey moved to the CAC format for his second album (due out this week), but the song has also crossed over to mainstream and is top 30 on the AC chart this week.
