Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Jun 17-23

Just two milestones this week. One from an Idol winner and one from a 9th place finisher.

Phil Phillips singles keep going and going and going. “Gone, Gone, Gone” has gone top 40 on Top 40. This is second single to enter the top 40 on Pop and this single is top 40 in 4 formats (of those three are in the top 20 and one is also in the top 5). Meanwhile, his first single “Home” had been on the radio charts for over a year and just went recurrent.

Mandisa finished 9th on the very successful fifth season of Idol. She has made a very good career for herself in the Christian music genre, so it is no surprise that her lead off single for her fourth album is flying up the chart. It entered in the top 30 last week and this week, it achieves top 20 on CAC.
