In the slow, hazy days of summer, we only have two milestones to discuss this week.
First up is our latest Idol winner, Phil Phillips. His coronation song “Home” is not only featured on the NBC Olympics coverage, it also reaches top 20 on the HAC chart. I believe that this is the last coronation song to get this high on the HAC chart since David Cook’s Magic Rainbow song in Season 7.
Carly Rae Jepsen, from Canadian Idol also has a milestone this week. Her new song with Owl City, “Good Time” has achieved top 15 on Pop. That gives her two songs in the top 15 of that format.
