Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Jan 26-Feb 1

Just two milestone this Groundhog Day – may your day not start with “I Got You Babe”.

Olly Murs wraps up a debut on the Top 40 chart with his “Wrapped Up” featuring Travie McCoy. The single is his debut single from his fourth album “Never Been Better”. The single has already been released around the world to good success. It went to number 3 on the UK singles chart, but was only sent for adds in the US just last week.

Carrie Underwood’s “Something in the Water” crossed over onto AC this week debuting in the top 50. The song is anchoring her Greatest Hits album. Uncharacteristically, it did not go to the top of the Country Airplay charts despite spending weeks at the top of the Country Songs and being more popular than lesser songs that blocked its ascent on the charts. Deb (aka windmills) recently wrote an interesting article about that.
