6 milestones for this week with representation from Idol (x2), X-Factor (x3) and the Voice
Carrie Underwood stormed the charts like they were a outlet mall on Black Friday. “Smoke Break” is her debut single for her next studio album “Storyteller”. The song was warmly embraced by Country radio and went from no spins to 31st on the chart. Expect it to have an enormous number of adds this week as it already tops the Taking Off chart with 98 stations having played it at least 7 times. It also leads the Country Spincrease chart.
One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” took a bit of a break this week and only had a milestone in one format. The debut song for their fifth studio album has had a milestone every week since its release. This week, it goes top 40 on HAC.
Also from the UK X-Factor franchise is Leona Lewis who hits two milestones of her own this week. “Thunder” went top 40 in HAC and top 30 on AC this week. It is the debut single for her “I Am” album coming out in September.
The Voice this week is represented by Avery Wilson. “I Have To” is hurting in two formats and went top 20 on AC this week.
Finally, we have Canadian Idol, Carly Rae Jepsen. “Run Away With Me”, the second single from her just released album, went top 50 on Top 40.
