There are a plethora of Milestones this week on the Monday Morning Mediabase report. We have one song topping a chart, one achieving top 5, two obtaining top 10 status, 2 moving into the top 30 and one reaching top 40.
Going number 1 this week on AAA (I never thought I was going to say that about a reality contestant once, let alone twice) is Idol’s Phil Phillip’s “Gone, Gone, Gone”. This is his second single and it also chose this week to go top 10 on HAC.
Fantasia, Idol’s Season 3 winner, appeared on Idol singing “Lose to Win” last week and this week, the song reaches top 5 on UAC.
From the UK version of the X-Factor, Olly Murs (runner-up) went top 10 on Pop this week with “Troublemaker”. Is it just me, or does this sound like an early Maroon 5 song (before they went totally pop since Adam has been on The Voice)? In any event, the song is putting Olly on the map here in the US because it is top 20 in two of the major mainstream formats.
Also making in-roads on Pop, is Canadian Idol contestant (and American Idol Coke jingle writer of the season), Carly Rae Jepsen. Her “Tonight, I’m Getting Over You” goes top 30.
Kelly Clarkson, winner of the first season of American Idol, has her latest single from her Greatest Hits album reach top 30. “People Like Us” goes top 30 on HAC.
Finally, Carrie Underwood (the 4th American Idol winner) reaches top 40 with her fourth single from her fourth album (“See You Again”).
Vicci, from the Voice, returns to the top 30 on AAA with her cover of “Come Along” featuring her mentor Cee Lo Green.
