Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Apr 1-7

Two milestones this week and nary an Idol in sight. Does this mean doom for the franchise? Nope, just that while songs are gaining spins and chart spots, none passed any of the magical milestones. But, good news for the Voice in a week with nothing but good news for them.

While the Voice has yet to make anybody a star in 3 seasons, that doesn’t mean the contestants have stopped trying. This week, there are two milestones for the Voice from two different seasons. First up is Vicci Martinez from Season 1 with her collaboration with her judge/coach/mentor Cee Lo Green. Their cover of “Come Along” has been flirting with the top 20 on HAC for quite some time. This week, they fall back up the chart into the top 20 while losing their bullet. Always nice to hit a milestone as a last “Hurrah” for a song. Meanwhile, the winner of the second season has his first top 40 song. Jermaine Paul’s “Everyone in the World” achieved top 40 on UAC. Maybe his EP will get released after all.
