Monday Morning Mediabase 12/12/2022

Four Milestones on the 12th day of the 12th Month of 2022.

Two milestones on Country from former Voice contestants this week. Corey Kent earns his first top 20 airplay hit with “Wild as Here”. Corey came in eighth on the eighth season on Blake’s team. Morgan Wallen appeared 2 seasons earlier and was on Usher’s team then Adam’s team before being eliminated in the play-offs. His “Thought You Should Know” has been racing up the charts and is top 15 this week. The single is from his TBA album, but his 2020 “Dangerous: The Double Album” is still in the top 10 of the BB200. This week it dropped one spot to 7th, but saw a 16% increase in sales to 47K.

Also on the BB200 this week is “Harry’s House” from X-Factor’s Harry Styles. It was 6th this week with 49K in equivalent album sales (up from 9th spot and 42% in sales from the previous week). The uptick in sales was almost entirely due to vinyl LP sales.

Christmas songs continue to do well, but only Pentatonix’s “Kid on Christmas” earns a milestone this week. This collaboration between the former Sing-off Contestants and Meaghan Trainor goes top 15 on AC.

Finally, the last milestone is for “Build a Boat” from Colton Dixon. For the seventh week, this charity single from the seventh place finisher on Idol’s eleventh season tops the CAC chart.
