Three milestones to celebrate as we head towards Christmas.
OG Idol Kelly Clarkson continues to be the queen of Holiday radio (non-recurrent version) with “Christmas Isn’t Cancelled (Just You)”. This ode to divorce is the fifth most played song on the current AC chart. The song is from her latest studio album.
Season 10 Idol Winner Scotty McCreery also has a milestone this week. His ode to George Strait (not the Straights of Georgia, but the country singer) is called “Damn Strait” and is in the top 40 this week. Scotty tends to grow slowly at the start of a chart climb, but this one is going relatively fast. Is it because Country radio is giving him more of a chance or the song is just that good?
Jordan Smith, arguably the most successful of Voice Winners, has another Christmas hit on his hands. “O Come (Let Us Adore)” enters the chart in the top 40.
On the BB200, Morgan Wallen’s album moves 45K (-75 from last week). “Dangerous: the Double Album” continues to sell well for an album this old.
