Monday Morning Mediabase 05/08/2017

There are 5 milestones for the second week o the 5th month.

X-Factor contestants and former One Directioners Niall Horan and Harry Styles each earn milestones this week. Niall debut’s his second solo single “Slow Hands” to Pop – the song was released on Friday. Harry Styles chalks up two milestones with “Sign of the Times”. It goes top 40 on AC (where it debuted last week) and debuts in the top 40 of AAA – a format which is traditionally hard on reality singing competitors and former boy-banders. The format seems a natural fit for the song, though, so the gatekeepers relented (as they did with Phillip Phillips and James Arthur).

On CAC we have two milestones from Idols. Mandisa has been sitting outside of the top 10 for a while, but her “Unfinished” pushes into the top 10 this week. Danny Gokey’s “The Comeback” moves into the top 30.

Billboard appears to have been too busy covering the MTV awards to have released their top 10 on the BB200 this weekend.
