Monday Morning Mediabase 05/17/2021

Just one milestone on radio this week and it comes from a Voice alumna. Fousheé was on Season 15 of The Voice and was a member of “Team Adam” (he didn’t win all that often, but I find myself frequently typing his name when writing about post-show success). She made it to the Battle Rounds before being eliminated. Now, she has “Single AF” on Urban R&B and the song just hit top 30.

Over on the Billboard 200, the spot at the top keeps changing, but Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous” The Double Album” shows no sign of leaving the top 10. This week, Morgan’s album is second (third last week) with 52K in equivalent album sales (-3%). Morgan was on the sixth Season of the Voice starting on Team Usher and being stolen by Team Adam.

Finally, it’s always fun to see how the contestant songs do. Chayce Beckham’s “23” continues at the top of the iTunes chart while Casey Bishop’s “Love Me, Leave Me” is currently thirteenth. At 18 is Grace Kinstler’s “Love Someone” while “Never be Alone” by Willie Spence is 31st. Laine Hardy’s “Memorize You” which got a tagged on title shout-out last night is 55th. Of course, Apple doesn’t move product like it used to and Casey got eliminated, so who knows how much iTunes position matters.
