Monday Morning Mediabase 04/18/2022

This week features 8 Milestones while last week had 6. Two albums make the top 10. Let’s dive right in.

Harry Styles leads the charge with four milestones this week. The former One Directioner and X-Factor contestant has a lot of fans. “As It Was” went for adds two weeks ago and this week went top 10 on Pop and HAC, top 15 on AC and top 50 on AAA (a format rarely seen in these reports). Last week, the song went top 15 on Pop and top 20 on AC and HAC. “As It Was” is the debut single for “Harry’s House” out May 20th.

Also earning multiple milestones over the last two weeks is 2020 Idol contestant Lauren Spencer-Smith. She went out early in the competition, but became a star on TikTok. “Fingers Crossed” goes top 25 on AC this week while last week, it went top 10 on Pop and top 15 on HAC.

Another contestant from Idol who uses social media well is Olivia Rox. Her latest single is “Been this way B4” and it debuts this week on the Pop chart.

Working the other side of the road is Morgan Wallen who decided to create a social media storm of a less than positive vein last year about the time he was releasing his album. After being banned from radio for a spell, he’s back now. “Wasted On You” went top 20 this week on Country radio and seems destined for number one. Meanwhile, his album “Dangerous: The Double Album” rose from Number 4 on the Billboard 200 chart last week to number 2 this week with 46.5K in equivalent album sales (up 4%). He narrowly missed out on topping the chart because Lil Durk did top it with just 47K in equivalent album sales.

Also on Country is Ingrid Andress from “The Sing-Off”. Her “Wishful Drinking” with Sam Hunt went top 40 in the format this week. The single is from her TBA album.

Let’s circle back to the X-Factor which grouped Normani and Camila Cabello together as part of Fifth Harmony and are now solo acts. Normani’s “Fair” debuted on Urban last week while this week, Camila’s “Bam Bam” goes top 30 on AC (it is also top 13 on Pop, top 20 on HAC and on the Rhythmic chart. Her album “Familia” was released this week and was 10th on the BB200. She sold 27.5K equivalent album (SEAS=14.5 (20.26M streams), TEAs=1,500 and album sales of 11.5K. This is her third solo album in the top 10.
