Monday Morning Mediabase 04/12/2021

Three milestones in this Monday Morning Mediabase Memo.

Scotty McCreery achieves top 30 with his debut song from his TBA album. This will be his second album with Triple Tigers and they have shown the ability to work singles. “You Time” has been a slow grower, but Scotty’s songs do take their time getting to number one. Scotty won the tenth season of Idol

Chris Daughtry appeared a half a series earlier (Season 5) and went on to become part of a band named after him. Daughtry has had huge success and this week “Heavy is the Crown” went top 40 on Active Rock. This song is also from a TBA album.

Finally, we have Harry Styles who was in a group and went solo. Heralding from Season 7 of the X-Factor UK, Harry Styles has gone on to have a successful group and solo career. “Golden” is his third radio single from his second solo album and his third currently on AC. He has two songs in the top 10 and “Golden” has now entered the top 30. Returning to AC is Normani (who followed a similar route as Harry, but on the US XF) and her song “Love Lies”.

On the BB200, Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” is 4th with 63K units (-1%) while Carrie Underwood’s “Savior” is 8th with 35K units (-52%).
