Before we get into airplay, let’s talk about album sales. Billboard reports that Morgan Wallen’s latest album “Dangerous: The Double Album” rockets onto the charts. Not only is it the number one album, but with 265K equivalent albums, it is the biggest Country album in 2 years. The album sold 74K albums (50K Digital) and 7K TEAs (10 single downloads count as 1 Track Equivalent Album (TEA)). Morgan’s album had the best streaming week of any Country album ever with 184K SEAs (240.18 on demand streams; 1 SEA = 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription streams). The previous record holder was Luke Bryan with 102M streams. Lots of other fun facts in the article. Morgan was a contestant on The Voice where he started on Usher’s team before being stolen by Adam and then eliminated in “The Playoffs”.
Morgan Wallen also achieves a milestone on Country radio. “7 Summers” is the second single off of “Dangerous: The Double Album”. The songs jumps over top 20 to top 15 with a big surge in spins.
Also from The Voice is Vedo. Vedo was on Season 4 as part of Usher’s team. His latest single, “You Got It” goes top 30 on Urban. The song is also on the UAC and Rhythmic chart.
From Idol, we have Danny Gokey. “New Day” moves into the top 30 on CAC. Harry Styles from the “X-Factor” (UK) sees his third single (“Golden”) from his second album go top 15 on HAC.
“Lady Like” from Ingrid Andress returns to the top 50 on HAC. Gabby Barrett’s “I Hope” returns to the top 5 on HAC.
