Michael Johns to Guest on New Air Supply Album – Listen to “Hold On”

Season 7 Idol, Michael Johns must not care if you all think he’s hip or not.

Michael’s latest gig? He’s guest appearing on the new album from 80’s schmaltz-rockers, Air Supply. The new album, Mumbo Jumbo, set to be released May 4, features Michael on a cut called “Hold On”.

Update:  Listen to “Hold On” below (It’s a duet. OMG. The song is crap, and their voices sound horrible together. Blech)

Hold On

For those of you too young to remember (or have brain-bleached them out of your mind), Air Supply was the ultimate soft-rock band of the late 70’s and early 80’s. Treacly love ballads, such as “All Out Of Love”, Love or Nothing at All” and “Making Love Out of Nothing At All” were huge hits back in the day.

They were popular, but generally, I could not switch the dial fast enough when one of the band’s pasteurized processed cheese-fests came on my radio. Hello bland and banal…

I still dig you Michael, really I do. But Air Supply? Seriously? Argh!

If you aren’t familiar with the Air Supply oeuvre, check out the video after the jump. “Even the Nights Are Better” was a hit for the band back in 1982. Eep.
