AT THE “2016 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS®” –   dick clark productions and ABC announced today that recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Green Day and multi-platinum alternative duo Twenty One Pilots will perform at the “2016 American Music Awards.” They join previously announced performers Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and “The American Music Award of Merit” honoree and performer Sting. Abba Launches Virtual-Reality Venture With Simon Fuller, Universal Music – VR fever has infected Sweden’s biggest musical export: Pop group Abba will recycle decades-old hits like “Dancing Queen” and “Mamma Mia” for the 21st-century digital medium of virtual reality.
The foursome hasn’t performed together publicly for 30 years, but Abba sees the potential to make money from their global fanbase with an immersive VR entertainment experience. The group is teaming with Simon Fuller, best known as creator of the “American Idol,” and Universal Music Group to form a new venture to develop VR and other new digital projects. Details of Abba’s VR plans are scant; the parties said more will be revealed in 2017. The members of the group — Benny Andersson, Frida Lyngstad, Agnetha Fältskog and Björn Ulvaeus — will be involved throughout the creative process. – Read more at Variety

David Archuleta to perform three nights at Tuacahn – y the end of his mission he had discovered another side of himself. Yet he also admits he lost some characteristics necessary to get out on stage and perform. For the past two years he has strived to combine the traits needed to not only be true to himself but also to deliver an entertaining show. “I feel really good about who I am now,” says Archuleta, now 25. “I feel really comfortable in my own skin.” Archuleta is currently working on a full-length album he hopes to release early next year. Following this English-language release he wants to do an entire album of Spanish-language songs. The 2017 album will include his new single, “Numb,” which he actually performed at Tuacahn last year. He has already shot the video for the single. Part of the delay for the album is because each song in an original. Each track started with an idea from his head. Some he wrote on his own while he worked with co-writers on others. “I just want them to be me,” he says. “I want them to say the things I want to say.” So far he has 16 songs.
