Meet “Boycott Target” Singer and American Idol alum Jimmy Levy

American Idol alum Jimmy Levy almost made the Top 40 in 2020. Now he promotes baseless conspiracy theories

An American Idol alum has a No. 1 single on the iTunes overall all chart right now! Unfortunately, the song is a nasty rap screed titled “Boycott Target” by Christian rapper, Forgiato Blow, who has his own sketchy background I won’t get into.

The American Idol alum is Jimmy Levy who competed on season 18 and got as far as the very last round in Hollywood, eliminated just before the Top 40 Disney Aulani showcase in Hawaii. Maybe that’s why he’s so mad about everything. Naw, every indication points to him as a 3rd generation family grifter.

Jimmy is all in on the Target boycott started by far right activists over their Pride displays which they claim targets children (it doesn’t). The designer they call a “satanist” created a t-shirt design (not sold in Target) that said “Satan respects pronouns.” A bit of tongue-in-cheek from a British creator, and some folks are losing their minds over it. So much, that Target pulled three innocuous designs he created from their Pride collection. Target has moved their Pride displays in some stores for the safety of their employees.

In the song’s music video, in which Jimmy sings a feature, the artists wander aimlessly around a Target while attacking the store’s Pride display. They take a shot at Caitlyn Jenner, praise former President Trump, and more. It’s all pretty mediocre (what’s with the tampons?). Far-right congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene shared the video on her Twitter account, which probably helped download sales. The clip is all over social media right now.

Jimmy Levy promotes Q Anon and Flat earth conspiracies. He called out American Idol in a recent appearance

Jimmy is not only a right wing culture warrior and Trump supporter, but he’s all in on right wing conspiracy theories like Q Anon and Flat Earth.

Earlier this month, he appeared at the Reawaken America tour in his home state Miami calling out American Idol and reiterating his belief that Hollywood stars drink the blood of children to stay young, a thing that some Q Anon conspiracists believe.

“I got on American Idol and I went far — went to the end of Hollywood — and, you know, I started hanging out more and, and getting more experiences with how sick these people were in Hollywood. These people are drinking the blood of children,” Jimmy ludicrously insisted. “These people are injecting a chemical called adrenochrome that they extract from children that are scared.”

The way he worded that, it’s like he’s accusing American Idol cast and contestants of engaging in the behavior. Indeed, judge Katy Perry is on many “lists” of people who are supposedly “pedophiles” who abuse children. It’s very very crazy stuff.

Did Jimmy accuse American Idol cast and contestants of drinking the blood of children?

Here is Jimmy explaining more about the “adrenochrome” conspiracy. Too bad the clip got cut off. It sounds like he’s using conspiracy theories to excuse why he’s didn’t become a successful artist in Hollywood. There are quite a few failed artists who have fallen down this particular rabbit hole, by the way.

Jimmy also purports to believe the “Flat Earth” conspiracy. Here, he gives a convoluted explanation of what he believes…something to do with “firmament.” But he’s also laughing, which probably means, it’s just a grift for him.

Because even as he insists “Flat Earth” isn’t a fair assessment of what people who don’t believe the earth is round actually believe, he sells merchandise as “Flat Earth.”

Who is Jimmy Levy? A third generation psychic who claimed to “see dead people”

Jimmy Levy’s grandmother was famous Miami psychic Micki Dahne. She hosted a popular radio show, and claimed to predict major events. She inserted herself into high profile news stories. For instance, she claims to have helped police find the dismembered head of six year old Adam Walsh, abducted from a Sears department store in 1981. His father, John Walsh went on to host several television crime shows. Dahne died in 2021.

When 21 year old Jimmy auditioned for American Idol 2020, he brought his mother Jill along, who also claimed to be a psychic and clairvoyant. Jimmy claimed to “see dead people.” The key to why Jimmy is the way he is can be found in his Idol audition clip. He’s basically the third in a line of expert grifters. He’s merely carrying on the family business–not as a so-called psychic, but as a “believer” and promoter of conspiracy theories.

True believer or grifter?

His mother walks into the audition room and reads the judges with accurate information she likely grabbed off of a Google search before hand.

For his audition, Jimmy sang Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”

In the conspiracy theory universe, there are two types of participants. First, there are the poor unfortunate souls who fall down the rabbit hole, usually as a result of life trauma like the loss of a job, spouse, child or a catastrophic health event. Then, there are folks like Jimmy Levy who take advantage of those poor unfortunate souls for clout and profit.

JImmy made it past the duet round. He sang Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” with Top 20 contestant, Nick Merico. They both advanced to the final Hollywood Round, where Jimmy got cut. There is no footage of his demise.

Sorry Jimmy that you weren’t good enough to make it in Hollywood. No Disney Aulani for you! Probably why he’s lashing out now. Naw, it’s probably 100 percent a grift.
