Matt Cardle Omitted From X Factor UK 10th Anniversary Mashup (VIDEO)

To celebrate a decade of the X Factor ITV have created the Ultimate X Factor Mash Up. Using a selection of hits from artists discovered on the show over the years to create a mega medley.

Notice the omission of former winners, inaugural champ, Steve Brookstein and Matt Cardle (2010). Oops!

The tracklist includes One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful, Leona Lewis’ Bleeding Love, DNA by Little Mix, Olly Murs’s Heart Skips A Beat and Union J’s Carry You.

Misha B and Amelia Lilly also appear.

Matt Cardle’s manager complained to Digital Spy:

“It is very disappointing to see Syco, yet again, attempting to erase Matt from the history books

19 million people tuned in to watch him win (on their most successful series ever). Since then, he has been bizarrely blacklisted from appearing on The Xtra Factor, excluded from every video compilation celebrating the show and he now won’t be featured in the X Factor 10th anniversary video which airs tonight.

Since 2010, he has had two top ten albums, one of which went platinum, and his combined single and album sales exceed two million units. In light of this, for them to purposely keep excluding one of their winners is undeniably perplexing to say the least.

“In truth, it pretty much sums up Syco’s attitude to him during the months after he inconveniently (for them) won the show. Unfortunately there is a misconception that Matt has slagged off the show and fallen out with Sony but this is not true.

He once jokingly said in an interview that he ‘compromised his integrity on The X Factor by wearing yellow trousers whilst singing Katy Perry songs’. Well, did you see those trousers?!

Matt has repeatedly said how grateful he is to Simon [Cowell] and the show for the opportunity and how much he enjoyed being a part of The X Factor. He still feels that way. This reflects very badly on Syco.”

See? There’s no reason to rig the voting. If there’s an unwanted winner, TPTB will just rewrite history afterward.

Watch the video below. It’s actually super fun and a great idea. Wish American Idol had done it on their 10th anniversary. I’m sure they would have pulled the same shenanigans though. Oh, the fan wars that never were! Heh.
