American Idol winner Maddie Poppe drops another new song. This time, it’s a folksie version of the classic holiday tune “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” Previously, the Iowa native released a unique take on the beloved tune “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Maddie is set to sing both songs on two upcoming Disney Holiday specials.
First, Maddie will perform “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” on The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration airing Thursday November 29 (9:00–11:00 p.m. EST) on ABC. The special is hosted by Dancing with the Stars: Junior co-host, Jordan Fisher and Modern Family star Sarah Hyland. Check out photos from the special here.
Next, Maddie will sing “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” on Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade. That special is scheduled to air on Christmas Day in most ABC markets (check local listings). Fisher and Hyland return as co-hosts. Additional guests include boy band Why Don’t We featuring American Idol season 14 finalist Daniel Seavey, former The Voice coach Gwen Stefani and The Four judge Meghan Trainor.
Maddie recorded a non-Holiday single as well, the upbeat single “Keep On Movin On'”.
